On Tuesday, the European Union will hold an emergency meeting. This meeting is about the migrant crisis in Ceuta. Recently, around 60,000 migrants entered this small Spanish city from Morocco. Spain is upset because some EU countries are not providing support for this situation. Italy has taken a step back on open borders with Spain, and this decision has support from Denmark and Finland. The Spanish government states that they have taken measures to control the border within 48 hours. Tragically, at least 67 people have died while trying to reach Europe. The EU members sent a letter to leaders, calling for a unified approach to manage migration better. The letter emphasizes the need to strengthen the EU's external borders and prevent illegal entries. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expresses concerns about the reaction of some European governments, mentioning issues like prejudice and misinformation. He states that Ceuta is not part of the Schengen area, which permits free movement.
