Following the shooting, the police quickly launched a thorough investigation to find the shooter because they wanted to ensure the safety of the community after such a heartbreaking event. This attack caused widespread fear among people, particularly in Tel Aviv, which is celebrated for its acceptance and support of gay rights and freedoms. As a result, numerous protests erupted across the city from the gay community, demanding justice and stronger protection against hate crimes. Lawmakers and activists condemned the attack and described it as one of the worst assaults against the LGBT community in Israel's history.
